On Saturday, my friends Janna and Petek took Dante and me to the San Francisco Zoo to celebrate my birthday.

Long before Dante came along, Paul and I were frequent visitors of the zoo. For the price of a movie ticket you can spend the entire day meandering around the grounds. Although they no longer feed the big cats in front of the public, they still make a show of feeding the penguins and the grizzly bears. They also offer multiple presentations throughout the day.

The San Francisco Zoo has one of the best petting zoos. It is set up like a farm. Children are encouraged to not only feed the animals, but to also brush them. There are toy tractors for them to ride and rakes for them to "help clean up". This is my favorite part of the zoo.

Although Dante and I get to pet and feed the goats and miniature donkeys at my mom's farm, we still enjoy going to the zoo and interacting with the critters.
