I spent most of Saturday on the couch after catching Dante's cold. The upside is that I got to watch Kirk Douglas in 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and back to back episodes of Rachael Ray's Tasty Travels.

One day on my back is about all I can handle. I swung by Target and saw that Aleve (our favorite pain medication) now makes a cold and sinus product. I bought a box and immediately took one when I got home. What happened next is a bit of a blur:

I wrote all the thank you notes for Dante's birthday party.
I did two loads of laundry.
I went shopping at Trader Joes (picked up another bottle of Charles Shaw Shiraz for $1.99).
I headed to Safeway and bought groceries for a month!
After unloading the groceries and feeding Dante,
I made roast beef, bacon and blue cheese Panini's and a roasted beet and goat cheese salad for dinner.
I worked on Budget Savvy for about an hour and also balanced my checkbook.
I spent two hours trying to get Dante to go to sleep.

At this point it was around 10:00 pm and I started to get sinusey again so I took another Aleve. If I had looked back at the previous 12 hours before taking that second pill, I would have remembered that it contained Pseudoephedrine which is why I felt so great and had so much energy all day. Consequently, at 2:55 am, wide eyed and ready to go, I gave up the fight, got up, took a shower and went to work.

I have done an amazing amount of work in the last five hours. I am a bit loopy now, but not the least bit sleepy. My guess is that I'll crash somewhere around 2:00 pm.

The moral of the story is: Aleve Cold and Sinus works AMAZINGLY well, just don't take it before going to bed!
