Deciding on your child's first Halloween costume is almost as difficult as choosing his name. Being the history buffs that we are, we considered dressing him up as a roman soldier. Funny, there just doesn't seem to be a market for roman soldier costumes for nine month olds.

I then considered dressing him up as the baby from the Adam's Family. I could make a decent Morticia: although at just 5'3", I'd have to wear some pretty serious heels to attain her stature. Paul put the brakes on that idea by refusing to shave his goatee so he could go as Gomez.

Occasionally, Dante goes by the nickname of Stinky (you can imagine why and when) so a skunk costume would have been awfully cute.

The decision was ultimately made for me when I came across this adorable pirate costume from Old Navy. At just $24.95, I couldn't begin to make anything myself for that price.

I promise to post pictures of Dante the Pirate when he goes trick-or-treating at Grandpa Tosetti's house.
