Inexpensive Organic Produce - Who Knew? |

When broccoli is the only vegetable your husband is willing to eat, you do what you have to do to keep it stocked in your fridge.
Last week, Paul and I happened to pass the organic produce section on our way to the broccoli. I was surprised to discover that the organic broccoli was priced at just $1.49 per pound, where the regular broccoli was $1.99 per pound. I don't go out of my way to purchase organic products, but if I can get it at a comparable price I am much happier buying the pesticide free item.
The moral of the story is that I will no longer assume that the organic product is more expensive.
