Saving Dinner - and Money! |

Paul and I both love to cook, but we find ourselves making the same meals again and again. Caring for Dante along with running Budget Savvy and Fearless Fitness makes for little time to put into menu planning.
A few years ago I had the pleasure of speaking on the same panel at the Professional Business Women's Conference with Leanne Ely. Leanne is the creator of www.SavingDinner.com. At Saving Dinner, you can purchase a weekly menu subscription. Each week you receive six recipes, side serving suggestions and most importantly, a shopping list! There are many types of menus to choose from including Regular, Heart Healthy, Low Carb, Crock Pot and Frugal recipes.
Paul and I chose a 3 month Crock Pot subscription trial. Paul can be a picky eater, so on average, we have used four out of the six recipes so far - the guy eats chicken feet, but won't go near a bean.
The recipes are delicious, easy to fix and inexpensive. We save money because the recipes call for relatively inexpensive ingredients. We also save money because we aren't ordering pizza at the last minute. So far, the biggest perk of this process and the crock pot menu subscription is coming home to the smell of dinner that is ready to eat.
