It’s 12:23 am and I am 24 hours away from my due date. In my non-pregnant days, I would be two hours into my night’s slumber. Unfortunately, my soon-to-be-born baby prefers Paul’s sleep patterns and so I am wide awake chatting with you.

As I look forward to the arrival of my first child, I am happy to look back on a year full of change.

On January 2 we opened Fearless Fitness (www.fearlessfitness.us), Paul’s martial arts school.

In March we laid to rest our beloved dog Murphy. So much time has passed and yet Paul and I still cry when we think of her.

In April, just two weeks after Murphy’s passing, I found out about my pregnancy. My desire to name our new baby “Murphy” was quickly vetoed by Paul.

In May, after a six week search, we discovered Harlan, a Newfoundland/Sharpei mix at the Santa Clara Humane Society. Harlan quickly wound his way around our hearts and imbedded himself as a happy member of the Tosetti household. Mushu (our English Bulldog), who had been grieving for Murphy, quickly adapted to her new companion.

In June, we acted on our decision to convert Budget Savvy from a print magazine to an online magazine. This is a decision that I stand by, as BudgetSavvymag.com is quickly evolving into the magazine I have dreamt about publishing for so many years. As you will see in the coming months, I still have so many more ideas to implement that will make BudgetSavvymag.com a pleasurable resource for living the life you desire without going into debt as a consequence.

As for the last six months, Paul and I have poured ourselves into Fearless Fitness, BudgetSavvymag.com and preparing our home for the new baby. It’s been a year of hard work and long hours and I have enjoyed every minute of it.

I look forward to 2007 and the new frontier of parenthood - figuring things out, making mistakes and learning from them. I look forward to helping out and working out at Fearless Fitness again with the baby in tow. I am also very excited about all the possibilities available to us as we continue to pour our creativity and energy into BudgetSavvymag.com.

Happy New Year everyone!
