You Don't Have to Be Pregnant to Stock Up |

Just five more weeks until my due date. I’d say within a week or two we will be ready to welcome Baby Tosetti into our home. Our fingers are crossed that the dresser we ordered will be here before the baby arrives. The bags of clothing and miscellaneous baby items on the nursery floor make me a little nervous. I’d really like to have a place to put everything sooner rather than later. One of the things that I have been working on for the last few weeks is stocking up on food/cleaning items. We anticipate a lot of company those first few weeks. I want to concentrate on learning how to change a diaper instead of worrying about running out of coffee. Some of the items on my list include: Coffee Coffee Filters Mayo – We are a Best Foods family Butter Coca Cola – Paul’s addiction Toilet Paper Laundry Soap – We are loyal to Tide I am lucky with my pregnancy timing that many of these items are on sale for the holidays. Each week I peruse the grocery/drugstore sale ads. I enjoy going through my list to see what items are on sale that coincide with my list. The deeper the discount, the more of the item I purchase. To some extent, I have done this in the past. Ask me any day of the week who has Coca Cola on sale and for how much and I can tell you. However, too many times we have run out of mayonnaise and I have grudgingly gone out and purchased it for $4 a bottle. It kills me knowing that if I had paid closer attention to my pantry, I could have purchased it on sale at $2.50 a bottle. The moral of my story is that you don’t have to be pregnant to stock up on the items you use the most – or that you are brand loyal to. Most of us do this to some extent, but with a little more effort, we can save hundreds of dollars on our grocery bills. I don’t know about you, but I can think of better ways to spend that extra money than on mayonnaise.
