In my April 11th post titled "In Search of the Perfect Mocha", I complained about the inconsistency of the strength and flavors of coffee drinks served at Starbucks and other cafés. I mentioned how I have now resorted to making my own coffee drinks at home.

Over the weekend I tried a concentrated coffee made by Stomping Grounds. My first test was with their Espresso Latte. Hallelujah!!! I made Thai Coffees all weekend by mixing the coffee concentrate with a teaspoon of sweetened condensed milk and pouring it over ice. It was so refreshing, easy and delicious!

There are two advantages with this concentrated coffee... I do have an espresso maker, but in my laziest moods I am not inclined to use it because the process itself is lengthy and the mess afterward is a pain to clean up. Second, the price! Stomping Grounds' concentrated coffee breaks down to about $.50 per serving. A serving of sweetened condensed milk is pennies. This saves at least $3 per coffee drink at the café.

The one drawback - coffee addiction. By Monday morning, Paul and I had consumed the entire container of coffee.
