For as budget savvy as I think I am, I still have Aha! moments now and again. One of those moments hit me a few months ago. It was Sunday morning and I was perusing Target's sales ad. I do this every week to see if there is anything worth going in for. As much as I love Target, it can be an exhausting adventure. Then, it dawned on me, why aren't I doing this for all the stores I shop at regularly? I do it for my groceries, but what about the drug store? What about some of my favorite clothing shops? What about Home Depot?? I could be missing out on wicked sales and not even realize it.

Since then, every Sunday morning, I grab a cup of coffee and spend about 15 minutes scanning the sales ads of my favorite stores. I look for items that I have been waiting for to go on sale. Every once-in-awhile I'll stumble on a new product that I'd like to try.

Making my list from home keeps the impulse buying to a minimum. When I do go to the store, I grab what I came for and walk out the door - instead of cruising the aisles.

The best part of this way of shopping is that I have better luck finding the stuff I need, but don't particularly want to spend my money on - on sale. I save myself hours of time and gallons of gas by not running around all over town "shopping" and not "buying". Give it a try and let me know what you think.
