Never Ending Quest for Coke Sales |

Paul has an addiction to Coca Cola. I was going to say Coke, but I didn't want to give you the wrong idea.
Paul consumes 2 – 4 Cokes a day. Yes, I am aware of the irony that he has been a martial arts instructor for the last 12 years, promoting physical fitness. However, there are far worse things that he could be addicted to, so I don't complain.
Since Paul and I started living together, I can tell you where Coke is on sale and for how much at any given time. I know that before major holidays it will be on sale. I know that before the Super Bowl it will be on sale. The actual sale price tends to vary. When I can get it at a really good price, I stock up!
As I was cruising through Target's online ad Sunday morning (as is my usual routine), I saw that they had Coke on sale, but their ad was a teaser. It wouldn't give the sale price. Instead, it said, "Come in and check out our sale price on Coca Cola products". Since Safeway also had Coke on sale, Buy 2, Get 1 Free, with 12-packs at $5.99 each ($3.99 each once you took advantage of the sale) I was frustrated that Target was actually making me go into the store to see if it was worth it.
I had a little free time before classes started at Fearless on Monday, so Dante and I headed to the nearby Target to check it out. I'm glad I went! Coke was an unbelievable $3.00 a 12-pack. I usually only see it at that price a few times a year. I picked up just four 12 packs, but will more than likely be going back to pick up the limit of nine 12 packs before the sale ends on Saturday. That will bring my total up to fourteen 12-packs, which should get me through to the next big sale, right before Thanksgiving.
More than getting the Coke for $.99 cents less than Safeway's sale price, it is really about having enough on hand that I don't run out and have to purchase it at the regular price of $5.99. With that theory in mind, I am actually saving $41.86 on the fourteen 12-packs of Coke. That is a significant savings and worth an extra trip to Target.
