The Tosetti Family in Alaska |

We arrived home from our 10 day Alaskan cruise on Thursday morning. We had a fantastic time! Alaska is magnificent. Paul and I have always loved to travel, but with a 1 - year old, we wanted the opportunity to explore and have fun without it being a hardship on Dante, or for that matter, on the two of us. This vacation was an ideal combination of relaxation and adventure. Just a few of the reasons that it worked out so perfectly for us: * We drove just 20 miles from our home to San Francisco, boarded the ship and we were on vacation. No flying. No having to pay for air fare. * We unpacked one time and visited four different cities. * The buffet was available 24 hours a day making it easy to feed Dante healthy and diverse food. I should add that he did discover ketchup in Ketchikan. It was entertaining to watch him lick it off of his French fries and then put the fries back down on his plate. * While on board we were just steps away from our cabin so if Dante needed a nap it was a quick trip to his bed. * The hallways run the length of the ship and were perfect for Dante to burn off some energy with either Paul or I just two steps behind him. On one particular day the seas were really rough. We got a kick out of watching Dante try to run a straight line as the ship pitched one way and then another. It's good to know that none of the Tosetti's get sea sick. * We didn't have to drive anywhere. If you have children and you enjoy traveling, cruises are the way to go! I've always said that Dante is a little gypsy, but he proved it on this trip. He is an intrepid traveler. Every time we pulled his stroller out of the closet, he would run to it and try to climb in because he knew he was about to go on a new adventure. I promise to write an extended article on our trip within the next few weeks. Although an Alaskan cruise can be an expensive excursion, there are ways to save money. I'll tell you how.
