The American Farm Bureau reports that the cost of a Thanksgiving dinner for 10 people is $42.16. Michael Mina and Douglas Keane, two award-winning San Francisco Bay Area chefs recently participated in a Thanksgiving dinner cook-ff competition that we suspect cost a little more than that.

They were supposed to cook a meal that “could easily be made by a home cook.” You may disagree with their premise that brined turkey confit and Meyer lemon and miso soup fall into that category, but it is an interesting read on how the pros cook a home meal. The Four Star Tips are definitely useful, no matter what your budget.
